Users not in AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'd like to facilitate my clients the access to CRM. They have to be able to access their casses.
The question is: how can I create user accounts for my clients if they are not in Active Directory?

    Thanks

I recommend you use the eService Accelerator for MS CRM. You can download and use the accelerator for free.

More information about the eService accelerators please click url below.

  • Hi Cosminc,

As far as i know, definitely you need a valid AD user account which has been registered as a active CRM system user to access the CRM records included cases.

So in order to access those record, you need :
    1) A valid AD user account which is a valid active CRM system user
    2) Impersonate a valid CRM system user to access those records. So in example, User A has valid access to Case-1, but User B (must be an AD user) is not a CRM user. User B can impersonate the credential of User A to access those cases, but you need to build a custom web application (UI) to provide this feature, since you cannot access default CRM UI without a valid AD account AND valid CRM user

  • Hi Cosminc,

If you just want to faciliate your client to give them access to read the cases. You can look into the CRM external connector licenses.  Then write a .net web application connect to CRM through web service to display the cases to your clients would be the best way to achieve this.

If you want your clients to create cases, then you can check out the eService accelerator.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Cosminc,

the eService accelerator is just an example for you. You can follow the same idea and then implement other entities using the same approach.
