border-radius property is being stripped from posts RRS feed

  • Question

  • When editing a post using the HTML option, I've tried using the border-radius property in a tag like:

    <div style="border:2px solid #777; border-radius:10px">Hello World</div>

When previewed the syntax works as expected however when posted the border-radius property is stripped out.

border-radius is now supported by IE-9, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Opera. If a browser is old and does not support the syntax it is just ignored and no harm is done. There is no good reason to be stripping this property from posts. It would be useful for explaining the use of this property in some cases.

  • We have a lot of little bugs in the editor and we are trying to prioritize the basics of just post/read and basic formating. What would this particular ask be useful for? Why is it important?

  • When the thread subject is directly related to border-radius it would be helpful to show an example. Another case is <fieldset> which your code is striping from posts too. This can't be more than a few minutes to fix. You must have a table of allowed elements.

  • Lots of little things add up quickly, so we constantly have to prioritize around all asks. We'll add this to the backlog though, but I don't have an eta for it.
