MS CRM 2011 Reporting Service Extensions - Unable to view default reports and create New Reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of installation of MS CRM 2011 and as a part of it, we have installed Reporting Server Extensions. Then we tried to view the default reports in CRM but we do not see any reports there. We tried to create a new report and we end up with the following error as shown in the screenshot instead of opening the Report Wizard.

We found the following log by enabling the trace.

    >MSCRM Error Report:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown.

    Error Number: 0x8004831B

Error Message: Error occurred while fetching the list of data extensions installed on the report server.

Error Details: Error occurred while fetching the list of data extensions installed on the report server.

    Source File: Not available

    Line Number: Not available

    Request URL: http://server:5555/Orgname/crmreports/reportproperty.aspx

Stack Trace Info: [CrmException: Error occurred while fetching the list of data extensions installed on the report server.]

We are running on SQL Server 2008 SP2, our Application and Database are on different servers in the same domain. We are running the Reporting Services using a domain user account and CRM Services under Network Service.

    Can anyone provide any suggestions?

  • Hi,

In SSRS configuration, assing CRM administrator User, that user should have full privileges in SQL server too.
