Windows 7 license key blocked. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Sirs: roughly two months ago my laptop died and I need to purchase a new motherboard to repair the problem. I was required to buy a new license for Windows 7 home premium because the new motherboard constitutes a new computer. As I am living in China at the moment and don't trust the vendors here to supply non pirated software, I purchased the license online from the microsoft store. Now, about 6 weeks later, I am being informed that my license key has been blocked. I have only used the key on 1 computer. I have made no changes to the computer since validating the key. I am not at all happy with Microsoft, nor have I been pleased with the customer service experience in the past. I have gone out of my way to be sure that I am using your software legally and I have been rewarded with frustration. I am a highly unsatisfied customer and I will be sure to share my feelings about this.

  • To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

     Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

      - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
