Apparently this is rather common judging by the number of posts here and elsewhere on the net. I get a popup multiple times/day telling me my windows isn't valid, but everytime I check it says it's genuine.
Also, before it's suggested: I cannot access SLUI. It simply doesn't start. Event log shows an error every time I try.
New laptop, instead of installing windows 7 fresh, I cleaned off most of the offending malware- McAfee, Norton, Microsoft Office Starter, and 20+ built-in ads for Netflix, AOL, etc.
    Ideas?

Try a system restore to a point before which you first saw the error.  Click Start and type "system restore" and follow the instructions.

If that does not work, click Start, type 'cmd' in the Search/Run box, and right click on the CMD icon at the top of the results pane.  Select Run as Administrator.  When the cmd window opens type 'sfc /scannow' at the prompt and hit Enter.  When the scan completes close the cmd window.

Rerun the MGADiag report and paste in your reply.
