sppsvc.exe "Error Code 2: The system cannot find the specified file"

Question
-
Hi, I seem to be having the same issue a number of people have been having with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I recently got my new Acer PC and everything was fine until a few hours later I kept getting the "Windows is not Genuine" error.
I've gone through other threads and tried sfc /scannow and restarted my PC, to no avail. I've also did a system restore to my earliest possible time and still no good. Also sppsvc.exe is on my PC in c:/windows/system32 as well as sppsvc.exe.mui. So both files are on my PC but for some reason I'm being told that Win7 can't find it when I try to start the service. I've included the MDA Diag Tool info as well.
Any help would greatly be appreciated thanks.

Hello draemen,
There are two reasons (that I know of) to get that error when trying to start that Service.
1) The file is missing (which you have ruled out)or2) The registry entry that tells Windows where to find that file is malformed (or missing altogether).
Unfortunately, since registry issues tend to be too complicated, as well as potently risky to the health of Windows if done incorrectly, that I am not comfortable troubleshoot it in the forums. I recommend contacting assisted support at one of the below URL, for further assistance.
North America: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_genadv_master?ws=support&ws=support#tab4
Outside North America:

Sorry I couldn't be more help,

Please post a NEW thread of your own with the necessary MGADiag report so that we can check that the problem is what you think it to be.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x
- in your own thread, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
