  • Everytime I start my laptop, a message appears -starting difficulty due to missing module 3/dlcg/time.dll.

Can I download/install this module from microsoft to solve this problem?

  • DLCCtime.dll may be a compoonent of Dell printer software. So you might ask in dell forum.

You can ask general windows questions over here.

otherwise if malware is suspected I'd ask over here.

  • If it is a Dell laptop, 8 beeps means there is an issue with the laptop display. This may be the same for other laptops, like HP or Lenovo, but don't quote me on that.

You might be able to copy the missing dll file from another PC or laptop running the same operating system (it HAS to be the same operating system, as the file from Windows 7 should be different from a Windows 8 version). There's no way to download the file from Microsoft, and I wouldn't recommend Googling the file, and/or downloading it from any website.

The other way to resolve this issue would be to perform a repair on Windows. The steps to do this will differ for each version of Windows, so some more information about the particular version of Windows you are running would be helpful.
