I have a problem re-installing Windows 7 Home Premium into my laptop. When I bought the laptop it had Vista Home Premium pre-installed and some time later I acquired an upgrade disc for Windows 7 Home Premium and I upgraded to it through a clean install
(Vista was running too slow). Recently the hard drive on my laptop stopped working and I had to replace it. When I tried to install Windows 7 in the new hard drive it does not validate the product and I get an error message telling me that this product is
just for upgrades (as opposed to clean installations). Unfortunately my new drive does not have any registry of Vista, but I have the sticker with the Vista product key still attached to the laptop (a bit burned though). Can you help?.
