Performed a re-install on a customer's computer and have been unable to validate Windows with the key that was recovered from the machine prior to formatting the HD.  The computer does not have a CoA sticker on it, though it was validated according to the system properties screen.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Unfortunately, it appears someone used an OEM SLP Windows DVD that belongs to an Acer computer.  You do not have an Acer computer.  You'll need to discuss this issue with the customer and let them know you'll need a genuine Windows 7 installation DVD and a proper genuine product key.

  • As Carey says, this copy of Windows is not valid on a retail Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-UD4H motherboard.  A change of a motherboard invalidates an OEM SLP license.

    Windows License Type: OEM SLP

This computer requires a retail full license copy of Windows.
