0xC004C003 error with new hard disk drive

Question
-
Recently the hard disk drive in my laptop broke down. I sent it to be fixed and now I have a new HDD in my laptop.
Obviously the retailer had to install windows again (windows vista home ed.) but now when i access my computer,
windows asks me to activate it.
I enter the windows serial code which is on the sticker on the bottom side of my the laptop but when I do,
I get an error (0xC004C003) which says that the serial key is already in use.
As you can see, the old HDD is no longer in use, so what can I do to de-activate the key on the that HDD (which is no longer in use since it broke down), and activate it on the new HDD?Friday, June 5, 2009 9:17 PM
