Issues Adding a Server Folder

Question
-
I'm trying to add a new folder using the "Add A Folder" selection from the WHS 2011 Dashboard under the "Server Folders" tab. My hard drive setup is as follows:
C: - 160gb SSD - stores ONLY the Operating System. I repartioned so that it's the only thing on the drive
D: - 500gb HD - stores the server backup of the Operating System
E. - 10TB Raid 6 Array for storing all of my folders - including the mandatory server folders Music, Video, etc.
When I try to create another server folder on Drive E:, it errors out with the following error messages:
- "A Server Directory cannot be created in the root directory" when I try to create it in the path E:\
- When I try to add a folder under "Server Folders" (E:\Server Folders), it states "A server folder can't be added to a folder that contains a shared folder"
This means that for me to add a new folder I must create a folder on another drive and move it over, under E:\Server Folders
Is this the way it's intended to work?
Thanks

I had same problem. I do not know if this is how it is suppose to work, but it worked for me.
I went into explorer and create a new folder in that location. Then I went back to Dashboard under Server folders and selected "add a folder." I then browsed for the new folder and added the name in the first field.
Don't know about the sharing thing because only after I added it in Dashboard did it set the parameters to share. I suppose it might be that you are running RAID. If that is the case, then I guess I am starting to understand the complaints re: the new system.

The error is about the follwing restrictions for shared folders:
1. You can not create/assing a folder in the root of the drive (like E:\).
2. You can not assing a folder for sharing that that contains folders that are shared (like E:\Server Folders)When creating a new folder on drive E: following the wizzard (without using the "browse" button) should create a new share using the name specified. You can then optionally move the folder to another disk.
In case you want to select/name a custom drive and foldername using the "browse" button, first choose "Make new folder", then make sure you do select the newly created folder. This at least is how it works on my server,

Thanks Theo - I appreciate your comments.
When I try to create a new folder, it automatically takes me to another drive to create the folder. It will not under any circumstances allow me to create a new folder on Drive E:, which contains the mandatory server folders.
Now, I can create a folder on Drive E: if I
- Go to "Browse"
- Click on the "MAKE NEW FOLDER" in the pop up window and don't use the tree
Seems like it either needs a more detailed wizard or allow it to be made from the directory tree.
