MediaView not working? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two small video files ( just around 3mb and 2.4MB each) running for a minute or so. Both in wmv format.

But when i try to see them in mediaview, the wheel just keeps spinning  and but the video doesn't load.

    what could be wrong?

  • IssueMy videos are not playing on SilverLight
CauseSilverLight only supports Audio and Images during the Tech Preview.

    • Due to SilverLight, limitations on images will be restricted to use of png and jpeg during the Tech Preview.
    • Due to a performance issue with Live Mesh, video will not be supported during the Tech Preview.
    • We are currently investigating issues with using SilverLight and Safari browser on Windows operating systems.

Found that in Nadia Fortini's Known Issues List . So i guess thats the end of this thread.

  • Hi,

If you wouldn't mind, could you please collect the Live Mesh logs from the computer you're hitting this problem on, and submit a bug report?  Instructions for collecting logs and submitting a bug are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Hi Miztiik,

A bit of additional information: Live Mesh vedia view is limited by the formats supported by Silverlight.

    Video:
    WMV1: Windows Media Video 7
    WMV2: Windows Media Video 8
    WMV3: Windows Media Video 9
WMVA: Windows Media Video Advanced Profile, non-VC-1
WMVC1: Windows Media Video Advanced Profile, VC-1

Are the files you were trying to play in one of these formats?

    Thanks,

    Ben.

    Hi Miztiik,

I wanted to check in with you.  Have any of our support staff been able to help you resolve this issue?  If not, please let me know what you've heard so far and I will pursue it further.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Nopes, Nobody contacted me yet. I am looking at this thread every now and then for an update.

I am facing another interesting issue. I am trying to upload a simple excel file ( around 170KB now ) through the live desktop. Though the devices show the file had been recieved and sync'ed the wheel in live desktop is still spinning and showing the status as uploading?
Any Ideas on whats going on?
