Manually Consuming Mesh Data RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Ori Amiga's interview on Channel9 (http://channel9.msdn.com/Showpost.aspx?postid=399964), he shows a way to get data from the Mesh Operating Environment using a URL (http://localhost:2048/Mesh, or something similar, I'm going from memory here).

I've tried using the URLs he shows (by attempting to browse to them with IE), but have had no luck. I've also tried using the ports that MOE seems to be listening on (according to AnVir Task Manager), but also no luck.

Is this available on the preview release (I sense that it must be, since as a developer I'm guessing that this is core functionality) and if so, what's the correct URL to be using? I've got the opportunity to do some demos in the very near future in an effort to get the Mesh architecture into a rather large project we're currently scoping.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Craig,

Programmatical access to data (including all the scenarios that Ori showed in his video) will be available later this year.  If you are interested in Live Mesh APIs, please feel free to sign up for the developer early access program at the bottom of the www.mesh.com page.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Yeah, I tried the "net use..." syntax that Ori showed. I couldn't get it to work either.

I'd be interested in knowing how to do this.

  • Craig,

Like yourself I'm looking forward to the release of the SDK - out of curiosity can I ask what sort of projects you are planning on using the MOE platform?
