  • Question

  • This issue happened when I update to Visual Studio 2019, building failed when existing inherits cross library, however same solution can be built successfully in Visual Studio 2013. The error can be fixed after add ClassLibrary1 to app, but why dose this happen in 2019?

    ClassLibrary1.test1.Class1

    Namespace test1

        Public Class Class1
            Private _a As String

            Public Property A() As String
                Get
                    Return Me._a
                End Get
                Set(ByVal value As String)
                    Me._a = value
                End Set
            End Property
        End Class
    End Namespace

    ClassLibrary2.test2.Class2

    Imports ClassLibrary1.test1

    Namespace test2
        Public Class Class2
            Inherits Class1
            Private _accountNo As String

            Public Property AccountNo() As String
                Get
                    Return _accountNo
                End Get
                Set(ByVal value As String)
                    _accountNo = value
                End Set
            End Property
        End Class
    End Namespace

    App module (add reference ClassLibrary2 only)

    Imports ClassLibrary2.test2
    Module Module1

        Sub Main()
            Dim a As New Class2()
            a.AccountNo = "a"
        End Sub

    End Module

    Thank you for posting here.

    According to your question, I suggest you report a problem in Developer Community for more help.
