OneCare can't set this printer as the default printer. Please try again later. RRS feed

  • OneCare makes this claim, however, it does successfully add the network printer, and it even set it up as my default, even though it gave me this error?

    gee wiz.

    i'm not particularly worried about this, but i just found it odd, and wondered if anyone else experienced this.

    this is the error message i got

  • How did you try and set it as a default printer ?  Can you walk me through the steps ?

  • I get exactly the same thing. I've got an EPSON printer my on main computer (via USB), with all the software installed. On my home network I've also got a laptop. OneCare tells me it can install the EPSON on my laptop, but then it fails with the same error as FavianGar.

    I think this is down to the printer drivers. Some printers probably need the specific drivers in order to use them, it's just that OneCare think's it doesn't need them.

    I haven't tested installing my EPSON software on my laptop to see if it works, but it might be helpful for people to know this instead of trying to think OneCare is the source and solution of problem.
