Map WHS "Shares" folder with a network drive letter? RRS feed

    It is nice to have the "Shared Folders" (called "shares" on WHS) available on the desktop of my client PC's. However, is it possible to map this to a drive letter instead of just individual folders in the shared folder? In other words, say my server is named "Server" for convention sake. I would like to map "\\Server" to drive letter X.

    No. You can map individual shares but not the server itself. This is a limitation in Windows client operating systems, not Windows Home Server...
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
