This Copy is Not Genuine error

Question
-
Error appeared at 9 AM yesterday. Rebooted, tried to restore from a restore point.
Computer purchased at Best Buy in Sept of 2008, never had a problem.
No hardware has been added (most recent driver was 2+ weeks ago, a seagate external hard drive for backup).
I am NOT a tech, just a church secretary who needs her machine to work.
I did run the Diagnostic thing

Your problem arises because your OS cannot properly read the BIOS SLIC table to validate the license for Vista....
The solution is to change the Product Key to the one on your COA sticker, and then activate that.
To do this, open the System Properties page, and scroll down to the bottom. You should see a link to Change Product Key - take that, and follow the instructions. You will probably have to activate by phone.

I have exactlt the same problem and it only happened at 20:48 on 03/04/11, my diag file shows a lot of similar numbers to the one above, even the product ID is the same.
My label being on the bottom of the laptop has worn away and I cant read it anymore. I tried a little program that allegedly extracted the product ID but this was not accepted.
What is the phone number to call as this does not appear on any activation screen that I can see.
Strange coincidence or soemthing that has happened to a lot of people?????
