Where do I ask about Win7/UAC/accounts?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • On a standalone Win7 notebook joined both user and notebook to a Windows 2003 domain, how can I work around having to type domain admin ID/password for UAC??

I would like to set it up such that at least the notebook and hopefully also the user login are in the domain's Active Directory but not have to use the domain admin's ID/password for any UAC changes. I know I can dial down UAC but that is a documented potential security risk and when multiple Win7 computers are deployed it's not practical to give out the domain admin ID/pwd.

I have not found anything on the Internet about this...nor any managed newsgroups for Win7...

    Thank you, Tom
