    Hey all,

    I've got a slightly modified ex470 mediasmart server and i'm looking to use it for skype.  I've successfully installed skype and set my skype phone up on it.  I managed to have one half successful test call before my server crashed on me, now whenever the server goes to use the skype phone for audio/voice it crashes and turns itself off. 

    I wondered if anybody here had any experience with this problem.

    Edit:  There are no errors in the logs relating to this.  I've been able to replicate this issue by going into controll panel > Sound and audio device properties > Voice Tab >  Test Hardware  - During the test it will cause my server to hard lock or turn off.

    It sounds to me like a driver or (maybe) hardware issue with the sound hardware in the server. Given that your server is designed to run "headless" (no keyboard, mouse or monitor) using it for Skype isn't going to be supported by HP or Microsoft. Have you contacted Skype for assistance? That would be your best bet, I think. 
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
