USB drive cases with WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently installed WHS with several external USB drives.  I'd like to put the drives in an external hard drive case.  I've seen several advertise which are USB/eSATA which my WHS server supports.  Will these external cases be recognized by WHS for pool drives?  I see that NAS drives will not work but am not certain of external HD cases which connect via USB or eSATA.  Any advice>

  • The first two non-raid boxes at the following link work well.  I have one of each connected to my WHS, both in eSata.  Ensure your eSata connection supports port multiplier or WHS will only see one drive with eSata.  All will be seen with USB, but performance is somewhat slower.

Stay away from the three raid boxes listed.
