Windows Live One Care Subscription

Question
-
I can't complete the subscription for Windows Live OneCare. I get all the way past the part where I log in, then I select "English (United States) / $ US Dollar" and then the last option I get is to activate a taken using a store-bought product key or token. When I click on "Go" underneath the Token option I get an error saying:
"OneCare activation cannot continue because network problems are preventing connection to the service or the service is unavailable. Please check your connection and then try activating OneCare again."
I've been trying for the last couple of days to get this portion complete. Also, recently on my computer my IE window won't pop up when I click on it. My bellsouth local area connection status says that I'm connected.
Any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? Do I need IE support? If so, where to I get that support at?
Thanks,

Wes, if you are using IE7, go to Tools, Internet Options/Advanced. Click the reset button and try activating again.

I too have not been able to RE-DO my paid $49 subscription AFTER a FAILURE to boot.
I have had to reload Windows XP (do all the updates, misc etc.)
Then spend all day trying and RE-TRYING every option on the Microsoft One Care $49.00 web site.
All I'm able to access is the CREDIT CARD location (been there done that !)
Did Microsoft One Care group happen to hire a few DROP OUTS from Symantic and McAfee to HELP with their One Care program ?
If they NOW change the NAME does it make the software better ????Tuesday, December 30, 2008 4:17 PM -

Sorry that you are encountering problems following the full reinstall. If you have an active subscription, which is what was created when you activated on the first computer, you need to use the same LiveID on the subsequent activations. You can't use the same key twice. If you are arriving at a screen to purchase or provide a token, you are likely not using the same LiveID as the subscription ID.
If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information. How to reach support (FAQ) - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90
Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com/ with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.
If the activation dialog already contains a LiveID from a prior attempt or one used in trial mode, but this is not the one you need to activate with to associate it with your subscription, see this post for how to reset this - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/f5ce50e4-9165-40a5-891b-fe5d0659738b

Not RESOLVED as of 12/30/2008
PAID $52.95 on my credit card 10/16/2008
The BILLING.MICROSOFT.COM says I have no billing ID.
Your REPLY is simply another CUT & PASTE of web pages we have already visited (and re-read) and again unsucessfully attempted to get positive results.
FYI : I have only ever used 1 live.com address so all problems relating to using the WRONG information is not at this end of the food chain.
My VISA credit card statement of 10/16/2008 for $52.95 list ONECARE [deleted]WA.
I believe EVERYONE should have a MINUTE to call Microsoft billing after spending HOURS in vain.... then call the credit card company... then call for additional resolutions.
NO BULLL...No Running in circles after your tail.... everyone has the same problem, everyone should have the same solution.- Edited by Stephen BootsMVP, Moderator Tuesday, December 30, 2008 7:43 PM removed phone number

Have you called OneCare support to get this checked out? I deleted the number you pasted from your credit card statement as it *is* the North America support number, which is only available to paid subscribers. I realize it is a pain, but only support can help you. Yes, I pasted my response to you based on the information your provided. If you are certain that you are using the correct LiveID and you do not see a Billing account for the LiveID that you purchased with, there was a problem with the activation on the server side and support will need to correct that for you, probably by refunding your purchase and having you activate a new subscription.
