    If I could install the "Home Server Connector Software" on the server itself I would be able to:

    1. Disable "duplicate" for each shared folder.
    2. Backup all shared folders with a schedule that suites me and in a way that is 100% consistent with the tools I use from the PC (obviously).
    3. Manually backup the shared folders from any pc.
    4. I suspect a lot of the "shared" data will also be on client pc's so the backups will be small.

    I want to do this to backup the shared data - not the OS or existing backups, obviously that would be silly!

    PS I wonder if I installed a virtual PC on the server and attached the shared folders as drives would I be able to do what I want?
