MCSA 2003 to MCSA server 2016 with 70-417 + 70-743 ? RRS feed

    Hi

    I'm currently certified for MCSA (messaging) 2003.
    I would like to know the quickest way to to MCSA 2016.

    What is really confusing is the 70-417 exam.
    It is possible to upgrade from MCSA 2003 to MCSA 2012 with this exam only ?

    And then to MCSA 2016 with 70-743 .

    Is this correct?

    Hi,

    Your planning is correct.

    For exam 70-743 you need MCSA 2008 or MCSA 2012 so you will need to upgrade to MCSA 2012 first by passing exam 70-417.

    Your MCSA 2003 is on the list for valid exams to upgrade from with exam 70-417:

    • MCDST: Windows XP
    • MCSE: Windows 2000
    • MCSA Windows 2000
    • MCSA: Security on Windows 2000
    • MCSA: Security on Windows 2003
    • MCSA: Windows Server 2003
    • MCSE: Security on Windows 2000
    • MCSE: Security on Windows 2003
    • MCSE: Windows Server 2003
    • MCSA: Messaging on Windows Server 2000
    • MCSA: Messaging on Windows Server 2003
    • MCSE: Messaging on Windows Server 2000
    • MCSE: Messaging on Windows Server 2003
