Launchpad remote web access not working

Question
-
Hi all,
When I try the Remote Web access via the Launchpad, I get an error in explorer saying it's unable to connect. However, if I type in https://bluebox2tb/Remote into the URL, I get a message about the certificate not being valid but it does allow me to connect all ok.
The Remote Web access is trying to access my homeserver website via it's normal address of https://<name>.homeserver.com. This doesn't work at home but I works perfectly outside of my house and via my blackberry.
It's a bit annoying. I have a workaround but surely it's not right?
Any suggestions. Is it my router firewall? That's working fine like I said for external access.
Regards

It sounds to me like your router can't handle loopback requests (this question was brought up repeatedly in v1 forums). To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it as long as you are able to connect to your website from outside your LAN.- Marked as answer by Leonard Powers Sunday, June 12, 2011 4:07 PM

I had the same problem and it was a setting in the DNS. I had to place two entries into DNS, one for inside the network (with name of server pointing to ip) and one for outside (yourserver.homeserver.com).Thursday, June 9, 2011 1:58 PM

Hi GWManning,
I figured it might be something like this. Can you detail for me the steps you took. I'm a bit confused as to what to change. My router doesn't allow any manual DNS entries and I've heard that some routers don't allow for traffic to be routed externally for it to come back in straight away (if that makes sense).
Thanks

Thanks,
Thats what I figured. I have recently changed to BT Infinity (Fibre optic) broadband and now have the BT HomeHub 3 (for those who are thinking of doing the same thing).
