    Your installation of Office Enterprise is using an Invalid Volume License Key - meaning that is one that is not in MS's database of issued Keys, and has therefore been generated by a hacker's KeyGen program/
    Office Enterprise is only available in bulk to organisations for use in their own machine - it is not available retail.

    If you are a member of such an organisation, please see your System Administrator for assistance. If you are not such a member, then you have been sold a counterfeit copy of Office.
    Claim a refund from the vendor, if possible - do NOT accept another Key, as it WILL go bad.
    You may be able to claim a complementary copy of Office from MS if the installation media are good enough forgeries - otherwise you will have to buy a legitimate copy of Office, then uninstall the current version and install the new one.

  • Hello mercernole,

    Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK
    Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 108 Invalid VLK
    Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - 100 Genuine

    You have two installations of Office on your virtual machine.  One installation is a genuine retail license for Office Home and Student 2007, which does not have Outlook.  The other installation is a nongenuine volume licensing installation of Office Enterprise 2007 that was done with an Invalid Volume Licensing product Key.

    What a lot of people do is buy Office Home and Student 2007 because it is the cheapest edtion of Office 2007.  Then they realize that H&S does not have Outlook, so they "acquire" a nongenuine copy of any other kind of Office and install it to get Outlook.  The reason why you are only being notified that Outlook is nongenuine is because that is probably the only program from the nongenuine Office Enterprise suite you are using.

    The immediate solution is to uninstall Office Enterprise 2007 which would correct the nongenuine situation.  You would still have your genuine retail installtion of Office Home and Student 2007.  But then you would have to purchase and install a legitimate copy of Outlook 2007 in order to continue using it.

    Uninstalling Office is not designed to affect your current or archived email and documents, as these are stored separately from the program files in your "user profile."  However, if they are important to you, I would recommend backing up anything you cannot afford to lose before uninstalling and/or reinstalling any programs.  Important docs, data, and email should be (at a minimum) backed up onto another storage device on a regular basis.  Whether backups are corrupted or safe is a function of the backup method and how well its executed and not a function of Office.

  • Thank you for your quick response.  Follow-up:

    1. If I buy and install a new "legitimate" copy, what can I do to preserve my contact information and archived email?

    2. Once I uninstall the old version and reinstall the new, won't I lose all of the saved data?

    3. Will any information backed up on a hard drive be compatible? or will it be corrupted and unable to be imported?

    4. Can you tell me why is this only affecting Outlook?
