DHCP server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone

During installation of HeadNode (HPCPack 2012 installer) wizard forces me to install DHCP Server. I don't have any option to uncheck it.
As much as I know, DHCP server is responsible for assignment of specific IP addresses to each compute node. Am I right?. If so, then in my case I don't use it and want to disable it.
But I could not find any option for manual installation. I can remove it after installation by disabling it from "Turn Windows features on or off" sceen.
But it is not the best way of doing it and might not be allowed in target environment.

Question 1: Will the cluster work properly if I disable DHCP Server feature from "Turn Windows features on or off" sceen?
Question 2: Is there any way of manual installation to choose the desired set of components and not install the whole pack?

Q1:  Turn off the DHCP feature should just do the work for you and if you don't do baremetal deployment, if shall have no impact for the cluster to functional.

    Q2:  The answer is no
