I'm in the process of reading the MOAC textbook for 70-293, and I have a major concern that I hope can be clarified.
In chapter 2, when it talks about subnetting, (most likely due to the date the book was published,) it is assuming the fact that subnet-0 and all-ones subnet are not usable. For example, the book says that the usable address space for 192.168.0.0/224 is
192.168.0.32 to 192.168.0.223. This is saying that the subnet-0 and subnet-224 is unusable.
When I do the certification, do I have to assume this outdated standard, or can I assume that these excluded subnets are usable, as they certainly are today?
