  • "rearm" resets the evaluation (grace) period counter to 30 days.  It is the parameter in the command "slmgr -rearm".  Three rearms are allowed for a total grace period of 120 days.  It is used to delay having to activate.

  • Given the date "><Date>20021030000000.000000+000</Date

and the Product ID "Windows Product ID: 00426-OEM-8992662-00006"

there is no way a Compaq computer built in 2002 can have a Windows 7 OEM installation.

You have alredy been told this on Feb. 8

    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/820882b0-e502-4d5c-acb6-e6d1f334a814

You need to buy a retail copy of Windows 7.

Its meaning is irrelevant to you as you have a counterfeit installation of Windows.

BECAUSE YOU HAVE A COUNTERFEIT INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS!
(That must be the 10th time you've been told that - you need to address that before doing anything else!!)

The OEM Key is not valid in your current install - it's only valid in machines manufactured by the OEM since Win was released!

You've already been advised as to what you should do to make your system genuine. Once it's properly activated and validated, you should have no problems installing SP1

I have absolutely NO idea what you are trying to tell me with that statement!

However this is what I understand from your posting history.

    You have 2 PC's (call them A and B):-

A is the one which you have been posting about for the past few weeks.
It has a non-genuine installation of Windows, using an OEM_SLP Key for Win7, and a non-genuine installation of Office.

B is a 'damaged' PC (Presumably a  recent Acer) - which had an OEM_SLP Key (which you used in PC A).
How old is PC B?  Is it an Acer/Gateway/eMachine?
    Have you tried fixing it?
    What was the damage?

Why is this the first time that you have mentioned this (not that it makes any difference to the solution)?

OEM Keys of any type cannot be transferred from one machine to another for any reason whatever.

You current installation on PC A is non-valid, and will remain so until you either reinstall using legitimate software or at least change the product key to a legal one.

  • @LVTravel
While I can't disagree with your sentiments, I (and I don't believe anyone else ) don't have the right to denigrate the OP.

He has to come to understand that there are certain things that just cannot be done.

My patience is not infinite - but I will NOT (EVER!) restrict someone's right to question the 'approved order of things'.

His position is odd (even contrary) - but it may simply be that he doesn't understand (despite our repeated attempts to clarify) that his current situation is untenable.

Hopefully, when his new (hopefully legal) Win7 package arrives, he will be able to accept the inevitable.
