Remote Desktop Vs. Mesh Folder - Access and Capability RRS feed

    So I knowticed an interesting message today that made me think a bit.....

    In the Live Desktop on my device ring it showed one of my computers with a Warning Sign - Basically a Yellow Triangle with an exclaimation point in it.

    It states: The Devide is remotely accessible - but not syncronizing. Access the device and make sure your signed into Live Mesh.

    Thus from that i derive that remote desktop capabilities are not linked to being logged in on the remote device? Correct?

    Thus as long as the client is running in the taskbar - you can remotely access the device - just the folders etc will not sync unless that specific machine logged in...

    You are correct - the remote desktop is NOT linked to login status. There's a separate service that runs that allows the Remote Desktop functionality. You can be logged off Live Mesh on that machine and you can still get at it remotely. You can also apparently disable the service if you want sync function without remote accessibility.
