Dynamics CRM 365 Lead Qualification creates additional account record RRS feed

  • Greetings.

    We have a plugin triggered on Creation of an account.
    This plugin responds correctly when an account record is created manually.

    However, when the account is created by the Lead Qualify process (filling the Account Name on the Lead form and leaving blank the Account lookup on the Lead Qualification dialog), the plugin is triggered twice.

    Both times the plugin is able to retrieve information from the plugin step's image.
    This information is identical both times.
    The GUIDS however, are different.

    Strangely, once the process is completed, one of the GUIDS (the second one) is nowhere to be found.

    We've investigated and looked at our code but couldn't find anything that could be causing this.
    As a last resort, we decided to assume that there could be a bug or a "special internal behavior" in CRM.

    I've read a Microsoft article (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2808201/the-convert-lead-dialog-box-no-longer-appears-during-lead-qualification) related to CRM 2011 admitting that duplicate account and contact may be created.

    I was wondering if this internal misbehavior is till happening or if anyone has an idea of what else could cause this.
