Project Server 2007 Database schema Differences RRS feed

  • Question

  • We moved a Project server 2007 Farm to a new Project server 2007 Farm(New installation):

Differences between old setup and the new one:

Old  Windows server 2003 Enterprise(64bit) All updates done up to latest.

          Sql Server 2005 Sp3 Enterprise(64bit)

          WSS3 sp2

    New  Windows server 2008 Standard sp1 + updates(64bit)

             SQL Server 2008 Standard(64bit) SP1 (CU2 not installed yet)

             WSS3 SP2

We get the following when profisioning the PWA Instance on the new Server: Failed to create PWA--see event log

         Event Log error message:

Published database schema(12.2.3....) is newer than Project server Schema(12.2.2...)

    Please Help.

    Thx!

  • Hi hennas,

This is because your new Project Server 2007 environment is on a lower service pack level than your old Project Server farm.

So make sure to install at least the same service pack AND cumulative updates on the new farm that have been installed on the old farm.

After you have done this, provisioning should work.

    I hope this helps,
    Hans
