For now only Visual studio 2008 exams will retire on 31 July. For the MCPD certification Visual Studio 2010 will be the latest version and this will not be updated.

Visual Studio 2012 is connected to the new MCSD certification tracks:

So If you still want to finish the MCPD certification then you can still do the VS2010 exams but for certification that will be valid for the next few years you might move on to
MCSD
