win xp spooler issue

  One of our clients is running Windows xp service pack 3 and they own a HP Laserjet 1020n. Her machine keeps getting a spooler crash error, then  the spooler service ends and wont start up. She used to have it connected to her machine via USB, now we have the printer on a print server and it is still causing it to crash on our clients machine. Any ideas??
