  • Hi All,

    Have a Good day! How to remotely run a .exe or .msi file silently using Psexec command? What is the correct syntax?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    Usage: psexec [\\computer[,computer2[,...] | @file\]\]\[-u user [-p psswd][-n s][-r servicename][-h][-l][-s|-e][-x][-i [session]][-c executable [-f|-v]][-w directory][-d][-<priority>][-a n,n,...] cmd [arguments]

    Example:
    C:\Windows\System32\psexec.exe @remotecomputername -s msiexec.exe /i \\MyServer\Software\Chrome\googlechromestandaloneenterprise64.msi <-- you must specify the credentials so the file can be opened.

    -u domain\userid -p password. I would also create a bat file for the install.

    batch file would be something like, Chrome.bat

    @Echo Off
    Msiexec /I " googlechromestandaloneenterprise64.msi" /q (or whatever silent switch for Chrome is)

    C:\Windows\System32\psexec.exe @remotecomputername -s -u domain\userid -p password "\\MyServer\Software\Chrome\Chrome.bat"

    Please refer to the following documentation for more information:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/psexec

    Here's also a guide on how to deploy .MSI files remotely with PSexec:

    Best regards,
    Leon
