Windows XP Client goes blank on backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
the Windows connector noted a client in the network had  abackup issue. Here´s the analysis: a netbook running Windows XP SP3 starts the backup. The progress indiocator popos up and at 0% the screen goes blank (black). Seems the machine is chugging along, but other than a power down nothing gets the screen back. The backup does not seem to go through. I have tried on wired and wireless, and with security package disabled. The backup worked for about a year, last successful backup was beginngin of January. Any ideas?

  • Hi,

It's strange that your screen goes blank.   Maybe you need to do a chkdsk on your drives.  On your Windows Machine go to My Computer and right click on each drive (if you have more than one) and select Properties->Tools->Check Now.  Check both boxes and select start - you will have to reboot your computer for the disk check to complete.
