IE 9 is it needed for WHS 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just received an alert, this alert was to install IE9. I don't use a browser on WHS, is there a reason to do this?

I did "hide" the notification so I wouldn't get the alert but should it be installed?

I have IE9 update hidden on one client and it still shows as an alert.  seems an alert ignores hidden and considers it still an important update (hidden or not).

  • I don't think it's needed per se, but I do have it installed. I believe it wanted to install IE9 when I installed the RTM.

Everything should work as per usual with IE8.

BTW, IE10 beta's just around the corner, but I'm wondering if we'll even see an invitation for that, since it seems no invites are going out for Win 8.
