What does OcsUmUtil.exe actually do? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have OCS 2007 R2 and Exchange 2007 SP1 deployed in 2 different forests. I can't use OcsUmUtil.exe since the user running it doesn't have the rights in the Exchange forest,. Does anyone know what the utuility does, such that I could create the objects and modify the needed attributes manually?

    Regards

  • The Exchange UM Integration Utility allows you to create contact objects in AD that OCS will use to 'link' to the Exchange UM Auto-Attendant and Subscriber Access numbers.  It also checks to see that your OCS Location Profile name matches the Exchange UM Dial Plan FQDN.

I don't know of anyway to manually create those contact objects as they aren't just regular contacts in themselves.  I'd suggest that you have someone with the proper rights run the command or get permission temporarily.
