Allow mobile 6 and mobile device center to sync to my VISTA-MAIL-CALANDER-CONTACTS...not just outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I dont want office outlook, i dont want to pay 100$ for it, i dont want the bloat or the duplication of programs that come with my VISTA and serve me very well....

Please allow the latest PC OS to sycn with the latest MOBILE OS. Im sure its not a hard fix. May cut out some of the forced purchases of Outlook office that people get sucked into 60days after the trial version expires that comes with there smart phones...

Anyone else want this simple feature turned on?

  • There are a huge number of folks that would appreciate this as an added feature.  Thanks for adding it .... I know the folks at Microsoft look here so maybe someone will say ... "OK, let's add it".

  • I agree - what version of the Mobile OS are we on, not to mention the sync program?  Why can't MS get with the program and stop forcing people to use Outlook?

Or in my particular situation I have my office account AND my personal account in Outlook at the same time.  But Sync is only bright enough to look at just my office account.  I have no option of specifying any other folders to sync.  I tried having two separate profiles, but even though it then allowed me to pick up which profile to use, if I had the other profile open, MAPI is such a crappy technology - it does not allow more than one profile open.

I thought I had read that it allowed you to sync with Vista Mail - so I was going to use that and Vista Calendar for my personal stuff, but still no go.

Makes me want to switch back to Palm - at least they had the flexibility to sync with other systems.

  • And another "me, too!" I have to use Outlook at work, but refuse to use it on my computer at home. I've been syncing Palms back and forth between Outlook at work and various other things at home for several years... this just lends credibility to the rumor that the Borg originated in Redmond... "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated!"
