  • Question

  •  I work from home for an organisation and I have downloaded the microsoft office 2007 onto my computer and they have a licence for me to use the software.  The help guide said I need to talk to my organisation's administrator.  The administrator has no idea what to do.  How do I fix this?  Thanks, Rachel

  • According to your MGA report, you have a non-genuine copy of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 installed.  Please uninstall this non-genuine copy of Microsoft Office, then visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on Validate Office.

    Microsoft Office Professional 2007 - 100 Genuine

Unfortunately, the product key used to install the Office Professional Edition 2003 is a Volume License Key (VLK) that has been blocked per the request of the legal VLK holder.

Also please review the Validation Advisor for further guidance at:

    https://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/ValidationHelp.aspx

(Based on the diagnostic report,  the Office XP Professional with Frontpage product key has been blocked because it is a Microsoft corporate key.  If this key is being used, please contact your internal IT department to obtain the correct product key assigned to their corporation. )

If the above is not the case, please be sure to backup or otherwise offload any data from the hard disk because a clean installation/reimaging will destroy all personal user data on the hard drive. Uninstall Office XP Professional with Frontpage and revalidate Office 2007 here at

    http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/RunDiags.aspx?displayLang=en

You can use the Windows Uninstall Utility to remove Office XP Professional with Frontpage or from Start, Control Panel, Add Remove Programs, and remove the program from there.

  • I am seriously confused now...it is office 2007 that was installed.  I spoke with the lady handling the licences today at work and she said has purchased another 50 licences for the office 2007 software - she said that the code was the same for all 50 licences.  Not sure where to go from here.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rachel

  • rach1234,

Sorry for the confusion rach1234.  Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is genuine and the installations for it are fine.
However, the diagnostic tool that you ran and the report it produced shows that there is a volume blocked license
    of Office Professional 2003
    on the machine.

If there is one non-genuine program of Microsoft along with genuine Microsoft applications, the status will come up with the non-genuine status. In order to have the genuine status, remove the non-genuine application.

Attached below is a Knowledge Base (KB) article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. This will allow you to download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and explain detailed information. Use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and uninstall all Microsoft Office programs 2003 and below (NOT OFFICE 2007) on your computer, then revalidate at the Validation site mentioned in the previous posts.
