Validate Windows

Question

Hi
I have recently bought a copy of windows xp oem professional, which the seller described as unopened, never been activated.
Having installed the software, input the COA key from the COA sticker no problems, but come to validate windows and microsoft says its not valid. I have checked the key is the same as the one on the COA sticker, using the keyupdate util.

I have checke the key used to instal this copy of Windows XP and it is a MSDN Product Key.
The licensing for MSDN Product Keys is that they are only valid for use by the person that owns the MSDN subscription. MSDN Keys can not be resold unless the entire MSDN Subscription is sold along with the key.
If this key is from your own MSDN Subscription, them please contact MSDN Support for further assistance.
If you were sold this key (but not sold the entire MSDN Subscription), please return it for a full refund. Do not accept a new key or anything like that. Get your money back!
Thank you,

You say you bought an OEM copy of Windows - the Key in use here is a Retail key.I suggest that you wait until Darin gets in tomorrow for a more detailed analysis.
