Tasks are not entering into the specified Queue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

I have a peculiar problem facing recently. We are using CRM 4.0. When specific conditions met, a task will assign to a Queue through a workflow. Recently we created a new queue and changed the workflow to send these tasks to new queue. But the tasks are sending to old queue only.

We unpublished and published this workflow. Still facing same problem. Anybody faced this problem. kindly let me know..

  • If you change a workflow, any workflows created before the change are not affected. Only new workflows will obey the change. My guess is the behaviour you were seeing were workflows that had been created before you made the change.

  • Did you check that there´s no other workflow or workflow step published which is directing to your old queue?

  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply. No other workflow is running. When i open the workflow which is running on the entity, it shows task created and assigned to the specified queue. But actually it's not assigned to the specified queue.

  • is there any more step after assign to queue to assign task to specific user? ..if yes then this will remove it from the queue becuase it overrides previous assignment..

so make sure your queue assignment statement is at the last of thread..

one more thing clcik on queue link on assign statement in workflow to see which queue record it opens and see if it points to new or old queue..

if possible put the screen print or steps of all your workflow and then we can help further with this..

  • It is difficult to provide suggestions without seeing the environment.

Maybe you could temporarily delete the 'old queue' and see what happens.  I wonder if there is some setting between the 'old queue' and 'new queue' that is similar?  You could also delete the workflow and recreate it to see if that corrects the issue.

If deleting the workflow & recreating it does not correct the issue, then the issue is mostly likely either related to the queue or there is possibly some other process is running in your environment that is moving items from one queue to another

  • Can you delete the old queue, then set the workflow to the new one? Then recreate the old if you need it.
