Blade server password RRS feed

  • I am running windows server 2003 home addition and havent loged on in so long that i forgot my password. How do i log on? There is nothing on there I need but This old 3UP blade server doesnt have a cd-rom drive please tell me how to get it to boot from a thumb drive or how to get the password?

  • I assume you're talking about Windows Home Server, as there's no such thing as Windows Server 2003 Home Edition. If you're actually asking about an OS in the Windows Server family, try the Windows Server forums instead.

    Anyway, assuming Windows Home Server, you will need to perform a server reinstallation, using the same basic method that you used to install the operating system in the first place. If that was from a USB thumb drive, presumably you know how to create such a device already. If it was from a DVD-ROM, then you will need to connect one for the reinstallation. You'll find a (somewhat sketchy) desciption of the reinstallation process here.
