Visual Studio 2005 for HPC R2? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have developed an SOA app on HPC Server 2008 using Visual Studio 2005. Now we are considering upgrading our app to HPC Server 2008 R2.

Will it be possible to continue using Visual Studio 2005 for development, or will we need to upgrade to a newer VS?

    Thanks!

  • There will be no problem for an application written in VS 2005 to run on HPC R2. So yes, you can still use VS2005. However, if you upgrade to VS2008, you'll be able to use the new SOA debugger we provided for VS 2008 (and 2010 in the future).
