More validation issues, tried almost everything...

Question

So, my copy of Vista has been "crashing" almost once a month lately, and I couldn't figure out why. Well, after getting fed up with having to reinstall it, I did some research and discovered it was because I never activated the product, which is really odd because Vista came preinstalled on the laptop that I bought. Anyway, I couldn't find the product key, so I installed the 'Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder" to find it, which it did, and I attempted to activate it again. I got the 0xC004E003 error code, so I did even more researching, and discovered that I would need to either a) change my product key, which requires activating first, or b) activating by phone.
Anyway, I did the phone activation, and they started talking about an installaton ID, and the digits in group one. I'm completly lost now, and tired of what seems like walking in a circle. My product key obviously won't work, and my product ID is apparently "invalid" because I can't access online chat support from microsoft, so I'm at a loss for what to do.

Hi jcooley09,
Your Diagnostic Report shows Vista as Genuine and I do not see any other Past or Present Activation or Validation error codes.
Also, having Windows crash is not normally something that is caused by being Non-Genuine or Not Activated. Usually you would get an error message or (at the very worst) Vista might go into Reduced Functionality mode.
What I suggest is:
~If your Vista is currently experiencing the issue, then it doesn't appear to be Activation or Validation related and you may need to go to http://support.microsoft.com for further support options
~If your Vista is Not currently experiencing the issue, then use your computer normally and if/when the issue occures again, don't try to fix it yourself, run the Diagnostic Report and have me take a look and see if it's a Validation or Activation issue. If it is, I can fix it for you and if not, I can direct you to the proper support.
Thank you,
Darin Smith

In order to recieve the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue" click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response message in this thread.
If you do not have access to the Start Button:1) Login to Vista and Click the option that brings up Internet Explorer.
2) Type: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 into the browser address bar.
3) A window will come up asking if you want to Run or Save, Select Run
4) When the program runs, Click the Continue button, then click the Copy button.
5) Return to this thread by Typing: http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3332267&SiteID=25 into the browser address bar.
6) In a reply post, Paste the Diagnostic Report.
