Issue with Data import from One CRM account to another CRM account RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 trail period. I've done some customization in that account. Now i want to move entities  data to another account. I tried but i don't have luck. Currently we are doing manually. In both accounts contains the same structure (Views and Forms).

    Thanks in advance,

    CRM Team.

  • Please clarify below points,

    • CRM 2011 Online or CRM 2011 OnPremise - Trial?
    • Are you referring the CRM Accounts (Entity) or A new instance of Online trial or Onpremise trial?

  • Hi Edwin2win,

I resolved the error. Thanks for response. i have one more issue in my CRM 2011 online trail account.

I have created custom security roles and i assigned Roles for each account. i have created a Role for Marketing Coordinator and given the Read and Write access on Activities and Reports. Apart from these two Entities remaining entities have only Read access. But when i logged into CRM as Marketing coordinator the permissions are not working. It won't allow to me create or Read access permissions on CRM. I got "Insufficient Permissions" error.

Please let me know if you have any Questions.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Team.

  • Hi,

CRM security roles enforce stringent security policies and will have a lot of dependent entities associated with it. That is the reason you get the "insufficient permissions" error.

As a best practice, i would suggest you to copy an existing/relevant security role, COPY it - Name it as "Marketing Coordinator" and just modify the permissions such as read/write as per your need for all other entities.

Doing this way, you can expect your desired results!

  • Hi All,

Thanks allot. I resolved my issue. I have one more question. Please find the below question.

    1) In Account Form i have field called Relationship Type. It is drop down list and it contains two options

        A) Customer

        B) Prospect

When i select the Relationship Type as Customer, the Account Number field is should goes to Active state.

If i select the Relationship Type as Prospect the Account Number field should goes to Inactive state.

Is to possible to do with out SDK, if it possible how can we do this?

Is it possible to do with Work flows?

Could you please let us know if i am not clear.

    Thanks,

    Madhava.

  • It is possible, you need to write some javascript code on your picklist field "OnChange" event to disable fields.

    Useful example here

  • Hi Edwin2win,

Thanks for reply. I will use that example and i will get back to you.

Currently we are using Trail version Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. If we upgraded to commercial version how can we access the data base and how they taken the back up and what are the security they provide.

    Thanks,

    Madhava.
