TFS causing visual studio to hang and go into not responsive. RRS feed

  • Question

  • The issue started appearing after i upgraded to VS 2017 15.9.

I read several forums and it suggested, that might be due to VS, so i uninstalled VS 2017. Took VS2019.
The problem is still the same, so the issue is on the TFS side.

    Steps to replicate:
    1.> Open VS

    2.> Go to Team Explorer

    3.> Open Source Control Explorer.

At this point i am not able to open my tfs folder and VS is hanged.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

  • Hi WinterlsHere,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

I think your issue is more related to TFS, since TFS forum has moved, I strongly recommend you could redirect to Developer Community or Stack Overflow tagged

tfs and start a new thread there to seek for a more professional help.

In addition, I tested on my side and it seems to work well. I guess this issue is caused by the incompatible of VS and TFS(I mean version of them), if it is possible, you could try to update your TFS to the latest version.

Sorry for this inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.

    Kind Regards,

    MSDN Community Support
