Synchronizing databases with different table names and different table schemas using Syncsvcutilhelper RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, we have two databases which need synchronised. One is an on premises SQL Server database, it's a legacy database. The other is a SQL Azure database. The two database schemas are different but logically the data needs synchronised. The SQL Azure database was re-factored to provide a more logic approach to the data. For example, before we had tables for policy, survey, now we have in the SQL Azure database one table called Content, which is an amalgamation of both the tables with markers to say what is a policy or survey. Is it possible to sync these two databases using Syncsvcutilhelper, is there any documentation that details something like this scenario. We can't really change the schema of the legacy on premises database without a large amount of re-coding so that will probably not happen.

    Thanks
