Bitlocker equivalent for Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have bought a Windows 10 computer and a Windows 10 phone. I need encryption for work. My old Windows Vista computer had Bitlocker encryption which was fine. How do I similarly encrypt a Windows 10 computer and Windows 10 phone? Thanks, Neil

  • Your phone has device encryption built-in, find it under settings - system, it is not turned on yet if you upgraded from phone 8.1. Maybe it's on by default on win10 phones that came with 10, I don't know for sure, but there you can check.

Your computer will feature device encryption (10 home) or bitlocker (10 pro), depending on the edition. Find it via start menu.
