Live Writer Changing My Code RRS feed

  • Question

  • Immediate Assistance Requested!

I have a source code form an outside site to embed a video into my blog.  When I place it into the HTML source of Live Writer and then go back to edit the player appears fine, however, when I actually post it the only thing that appears is the link to the site rather than the player itself!

Below is the code that I am trying to place....

    <OBJECT TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" DATA="http://community.flypaper.net//s/ghyatt/Stories/windows-media-encoder/Main.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all" CODEBASE="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,45,0" WIDTH="400px" HEIGHT="334px" ID="Main"><PARAM NAME="movie" VALUE="http://community.flypaper.net//s/ghyatt/Stories/windows-media-encoder/Main.swf" /><PARAM NAME="base" VALUE="http://community.flypaper.net//s/ghyatt/Stories/windows-media-encoder/" /><PARAM NAME="FlashVars" VALUE="item_id=3627&auto_start=false" /><PARAM NAME="allowScriptAccess" VALUE="always" /><PARAM NAME="allowNetworking" VALUE="all" /></OBJECT><br /><a href="http://www.flypaper.com" target="_blank">Flypaper, Stories That Stick. Get it here Free!</a>

Can someone please tell me where I am goofing up or is in their code?  I have been in contact with the people from the software I am using and you can Click Here to chat with them or contact me directly and I will forward it on to them!  They are trying to figure out how they need to change their code to make it function properly in Live Spaces and using Windows Live Writer to be able to embed the code!  Please let me know as soon as possible!

    Thanks In Advance

  • Scott is right, this is just Windows Live Spaces removing the object code for security reasons.  Though, changing it to an embed probably won't even help in this case.  Sorry. :(

  • Unfortunately, I would say this is actually Windows Live Spaces stripping the code out, not Live Writer. Most blog engines have their own filters when posts are published, and it looks like Spaces strips out Object tags. If you can get the code to use <embed> rather than <object> then that might work.
