Error when loging into CRM for the first time

Question
-
Hi
I have installed CRM 4.0 Enterprise Edition at a client. The installation went through with no problem, but when I try to log onto CRM using the installation user account I get an error that reads:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
All the correct CRM groups have been created in AD and the installation user is a member of all these groups.
Has anyone experienced such a problem before. I would appreciate it if anyone could offer me some advice.
Thanks
Anthony

Hi,
Do u run the URL with the FQDN or the IP Address? Try a nslookup on the client. See if it resolved to the CRM server correctly

I would suggest checking your network connections, and see if your domain controller is working fine.Thursday, September 18, 2008 4:17 PM

Did you ever resolve this?
http://fileserver1/
I have the same issue "the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
I know it is not a resolution issue as I can access a test.html document using http://fileserver1/test.html
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.Saturday, April 18, 2009 12:34 PM -
Have you tried logging getting into CRM when you are logged on as the system administrator?

Open Deployment manager and see if your org is enabled and set as default if you have more than one org.
Check DNS settings that the record for crm to that ip address is created.

My only Org is enabled.
not sure what you mean regarding the DNS, if I navigate to http://fileserver1/test.html which is a page that just displays "hello world", I have added it to the crm web root.
Any ideas?Tuesday, April 21, 2009 12:25 PM
